The new Red Star Line Museum located in the historic warehouses of the shipping company in Antwerp opened on September 28, 2013.
Mirroring the Ellis Island story, the museum brings to life the journey of more than two million people who emigrated via Antwerp to New York, among them iconic passengers such as Irving Berlin and Albert Einstein.
Wheelchair accessible, the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online, at the information desk of Antwerp Tourism & Congress in Grote Markt and at the museum. Cost for adults 8 Euros, seniors are 6 Euros and 12 to 26 year olds are only 1 Euro.
